Lately I've been reading a lot. After an almost a year long break I'm back at my usual reading rhythm.
I just finished Edward's Lee City Infernal. What a book! I love all of his books. They have a way to stay with you and haunt you.
And here's a picture what I reading now:

Bluez Bunny

I crocheted this little Bunny during my vacation back in September but hadn't made his face until late last night. So here he is Bluez Bunny! Hope you like him. If you are interesting in making one on your own. You can find the pattern here in Spanish and English!

Trust the magic of beginnings!

Back on February I wrote a really small list of resolutions for this year. As we are closing in on September, I have started to think about resolutions and the year that has all ready passed. Have I done any of the things that I set out to do? Did I actually try??? I got a little depressed and then I read this quote:

and started thinking. Why should I focus on the negative? Why not try to think about the positives? The things I did and the things that weren't in the list but I tried out. So this post is a celebration for the new things I did in 2014. You will find the list below. I hope this is an inspiration to all of you out there. Try to focus on the positive and stay strong!

1. Went to a Latin dance class ( I tried it once and think was enough)
2. Opened an etsy shop
3. Got a yearly gym membership
4. Going regularly to the gym.
5. Got out of a really stressful situation.
6. Went on a hike
7. Got out of a really hurtful personal situation
8. Went on a night hike
9. Met alot of new people and made some new friends.
10. Visited two new cities in different countries. ( Prague and Budapest)
11. I went on a bazaar to show my work.
12. Fostered two kitties. (they are now happily adopted!!)

Not bad for half a year! Maybe there is more I haven't written on the list but reading this 12 is enough to make my day and see how I have changed this past months.

Monday's Find #8

Ok, today's Monday Find is about a real life friend. I would like to talk a little about an amazing young woman and crochet teacher I met during the spring. As you already know I attended a crochet seminar at LU Creative Studio and had a blast!! Jorgina is an amazing teacher! She is calm, patient and helpful. If you are in Athens, Greece and want to learn how to crochet and more have a look at LU Creative Studio. Thanks to her I learned new things and she taught me that nothing is beyond my reach.

You can see her work and find out more about her here

Summer in the city v.1

Do you remember this song from Joe Cocker??? I love it!It makes me think of summer, relaxed times with friends and the never ending love for my city Athens.

Lately I find myself wanting to take more photos of my city. Most of them are a little dark but I hope you will enjoy them.Keep in mind that most of them are taken with my Samsung Galaxy S4 and are not remotely professional. Every comment you have is more than welcome.

Few weeks ago I got a custom order for some crochet cosy cases for Iphone 4s.
After some discussions we have reached a final design and colour. This is a lovely gift for a friend and I hope the person that is intended for really likes them. I really enjoyed making this and I was a bit nervous if they were going to like them.
What do you think???

Have a lovely weekend!

Crochet and travel!

Last week I travelled to Budapest. I had a blast! The city is so beautiful. So many things to see, so many museums to visit and so little time to do so. I will be doing a regular post full of pictures. Yes, I will! I promise!! Wait till I upload my photos said Sophia and she never actually did it!
What I've come to love doing during air plane time lately is crochet. I take some yarn and one of my smaller hooks and crochet the flight away. I can't believe how fast time flies (he he!) when I crochet. I used to read during flights and still  carry with me a book just in case.I actually dropped and lost  my hook the first time and switched to reading the rest of the flight. I wasn't sure whether the airport security will let me take on board my hook but there wasn't any problem after all and was soo worth the try.
And with no further delay my yarn and hook on the plane!

Have an awesome weekend!

Lately

I've been attending a monthly course on how to make fabric bags. At the lovely LU Creative in Thiseion, Athens Greece. I'm in the second week and we have already made a purse and an envelope bag. I'm really excited. This is my first contact with a sewing machine and I can say I like it. I'm still a bit afraid not to sew my own fingers but I think with a little practice I'll manage.
I always wanted to try sewing but I didn't know where to start. I have a Singer sewing machine from my grandmother and all this years has been gathering dust. So I took her for a service and I am all set to try her out. I haven't found a name for her yet. My grandmother was one hell of a seamstress. When me and my sister were little she made all our clothes. Unfortunately over the years her eyesight has deteriorated and now she can't show me all the tricks.
And the best part is after I finish my lesson I get to walk at Thiseion. See the lovely Acropolis and the tourist having fun!

Monday's find

This Monday's find is not from the web. It's a new shop owned by two sweet and awesome ladies in Athens, Greece. I was very happy to attend the grand opening with my sister and my bf Maria. The shop has lovely handmade jewellery, clothes, bags and accessories. I took a few photos because I was discussing with my friends and I remembered to take some at the very last minute. I'm wishing the best of luck and if you are ever at New Smirny look them up!

For all of you not in Greece you can find them on Facebook:
